Splunk had a line of merch with the phrase “See your world, maybe wish you hadn’t.” That came to mind when I got this 30 watt rechargeable UV flashlight.

It’s from LUXNOVAQ, no relation as far as I know, and when I got it, it retailed for $31.99 including the rechargeable 26650 battery, charging cable, wrist strap, hard shell carrying case, and what we used to call a “dry cell” case which lets you use three AAA batteries in place of the huge rechargeable battery.
Note: As of this posting (April 6, 2024), this flashlight is showing unavailable on Amazon. There is what seems to be an identical product listed with slightly different description for $32.99. And as of December 29, 2024, it’s up to $35, but still available. Other than the original mention above, I will link to the new listing.

The observations
The foam-lined somewhat-hard-plastic case is a nice detail, great for cases where you want to carry it all together without the need for immediate access. Either tear the wrapper off the 26650 battery and insert it, or put three AAA cells of your choice (I like Lithium for long life, like the Energizer Ultimate Lithium that I’ve used several packs of) and insert it. .
The It’s a nice light for looking around in the dark without blinding yourself. Don’t look directly into it, of course.
What’s the summary?
The LUXNOVAQ ultraviolet flashlight is great for enjoying blacklight art, finding stains and spills, inspiring yourself to replace your entire toilet, or a number of other tasks. The power options give it flexibility, and the case is a convenient transportation bonus in case you switch between items or just don’t want your flashlight damaging other things in your bag (it’s pretty hefty).

For barely more than $30, it’s a reasonable price for what you get. The battery itself is about $10. If you want an extra, you can get much larger than 3000mAh, such as these 8800mAh cells for about $10 each.
